How it works

  1. Open Solar Monitor on Telegram

    Tap the button, press Start and choose your language.

  2. Send your access code

    In the ShinePhone app go to Me → Data Sharing → Share with Third Party, copy the code and paste it in the chat. The bot checks it right away. If you don't see Data Sharing, tap your username under Me and then API Token.

  3. Done, relax

    We find your plants and inverters and start watching them. If one stops, you get a message. When it is back, another one.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. Solar Monitor is free for everyone. No card, no trial period, no ads.

Is it safe to share my access code?

The Growatt access code only allows reading what you already see in ShinePhone: plant names, inverters, status and production. Solar Monitor only reads, it never changes anything in your account. You can revoke the code in ShinePhone at any time and disconnect the bot with /disconnect.

Do I need to be technical?

No. If you can copy a code from one app and paste it into a chat, you can use Solar Monitor. Everything else is just tapping buttons.

Does it work with my inverter brand?

Today Solar Monitor works only with Growatt inverters (the ones you follow in the ShinePhone app). Other brands are not supported yet. When we add a new brand, it shows up as an option inside the bot.

How soon do I find out it stopped?

We check your inverters every 10 minutes during the day. If one stays stopped for 3 checks in a row, you get a message, usually within 30 minutes.

Will I get an alert every night when the sun goes down?

No. Every inverter switches off at night; that is normal, not a failure. Solar Monitor only alerts you when the inverter stops during the day, when it should be producing.

What if I want to stop using it?

Send /disconnect to the bot. We delete your access code, your plants and inverters and your alert history. No questions, no waiting.

Your data

We keep only what is needed to work: your Telegram identifier, the language you chose, your Growatt access code, the names, locations and serial numbers of your plants and inverters, their latest readings (status, power and energy), plus the history of the alerts we sent you. We use this only to watch your inverters and talk to you. We never sell or share your data with anyone. You can disconnect at any time with /disconnect, and everything is deleted.
