Who we are

Solar Lookout is a free Telegram service that tells you when your solar inverter stops producing and when it is back. It is independent: it is not affiliated with Telegram or with the inverter brands it works with. For any question about your data, write to support@solarlookout.com.

What the bot stores

  • Your Telegram identifier and the identifier of your chat, so we can send you messages.
  • The language you chose and your alert settings (for example, how often you want to hear about a long outage).
  • The link that brought you to the bot, when there was one (for example our website or a link from an installer).
  • The access data of your inverter account (access code, key or password, depending on the brand), stored encrypted.
  • The names, locations, time zones and serial numbers of your plants and inverters, and their latest readings (status, power and energy).
  • The history of the alerts we sent you and the date of your last message to the bot.

Why we use it

Only to watch your inverters, send you alerts and answer your commands. We use the link that brought you only to count, in totals, which channels bring people to Solar Lookout.

Who we rely on to work

We never sell your data or use it for advertising. To work, the service relies on: your inverter brand's cloud, which we query with your access data to read the status of your system; Telegram, which delivers the messages; the hosting company that runs our server; and Cloudflare, which hosts this website and counts its visits.

This website

This website sets no cookies of its own and has no ads. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics (pages viewed, the site you came from, country, device and browser): we only see totals, never who you are.

How long we keep it

While you use the service. When you send /disconnect, we delete the access data of your account, your plants and inverters, your alert history and everything else on this list, right away.

Your rights

You can read this summary at any time with /privacy in the bot and delete everything with /disconnect. Wherever you live, including under Brazil's LGPD and Europe's GDPR, you can also ask us to confirm, show, correct or delete your data by writing to support@solarlookout.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
